Editorial standards
Specific claims. Visible conflicts. Useful limits.
Our editorial policy is designed to make a recommendation inspectable—not merely persuasive.
Conflicts of interest
Extension Reviewer has no affiliation with any extension developer covered on this site. Products made, funded, or sold by anyone involved in running this site are excluded from coverage.
Ownership, investment, employment, or compensation ties to a developer disqualify that developer’s products from reviews, rankings, and comparisons. If such a tie ever arises around an already-covered product, the coverage is removed.
Claims and comparisons
- Store ratings are identified as store ratings, not our scores.
- Publisher claims are attributed and not silently converted into tested facts.
- Superlatives must name the use case and be supported by the visible comparison.
- Meaningful drawbacks and better-fit alternatives are included.
Academic integrity
We do not promise that an extension will evade detection, make copied work original, or satisfy a class policy. Students are responsible for citations, source checking, and following course and institutional rules.
Privacy coverage
We summarize the Chrome Web Store’s publisher-supplied disclosures and point readers to official policies. We do not independently audit code or data flows in v1, and say so.
Commercial model
V1 contains no affiliate links, paid placements, sponsored scores, analytics, ads, or lead-generation forms. If the commercial model changes, this policy and affected articles must change before publication.
Dates
Publication and fact-check dates are real dates. Content is never backdated, and refreshed facts always update the visible verification date.
