What Angular DevTools is

The extension adds Angular tabs to Chrome DevTools for browsing the component tree and editing component and directive state, profiling change-detection cycles, and viewing the injector and router trees. The angular.dev docs say it supports development builds only, or production builds compiled with optimization turned off.

Permissions and privacy

Page access

The extension has to detect Angular on the pages you open and attach to the app running there to read its component tree and profiling data, which it then shows inside DevTools. Because it is only useful on your own development builds, Chrome's site-access settings can limit it to localhost and your staging hosts.

Data notes

The listing declares no data collection, and the code is developed in the open within the Angular repository on GitHub. Component state you inspect can include user records or tokens from the running app, so debug against test data rather than production customer data where possible.
