What Phrasely is

Phrasely offers sentence-level rephrasing with tone and length adjustment inside the sites where you already write, and the publisher says it supports more than fifty languages. It is an individual-developer listing rather than a company one, and its store presence has not moved in over a year and a half.

Feature coverage

  • Sentence rephrasing
  • Tone and length adjustment
  • Support for 50+ languages per the publisher
  • Works in Gmail, Google Docs, and social platforms
  • No stated account or payment requirement

What stands out

  • Free with no stated paid tier or credit-card requirement
  • Narrow, understandable scope
  • Publisher's store disclosure says it will not collect or use your data

Tradeoffs to know

  • Only eight public ratings and roughly 800 users—far too little evidence to judge reliability
  • No store update since November 2024, and the version number is still 0.0.6
  • The publisher's homepage markets it as a way to bypass AI detectors, a claim we do not verify and that commonly breaks school policy

Permissions and privacy

Page access

Rephrasing inside other sites' text fields requires page access. Confirm what Chrome requests at install and restrict site access to the places you actually write.

Data notes

The store disclosure says the developer will not collect or use your data and that data is not sold to third parties. That is publisher-supplied and unaudited, and the listing's developer contact is a personal email address rather than a company one—there is little public accountability behind the claim.

Pricing

Free; the publisher's site says no credit card is required and lists no paid plan. Pricing and plan limits change more often than store metadata, so use the linked developer page as the final check before subscribing.
