What LeechBlock NG is

Users define up to 30 sets of sites, each with its own times and days, blocking during fixed periods, after a time limit, or both. Lockdown, countdown delays, password or random-code access control, wildcards, exceptions, and keyword matching make it harder to talk yourself past a block.

Feature coverage

  • Up to 30 block sets with schedules and limits
  • Lockdown and countdown delays
  • Password or access-code protected options

What stands out

  • Excellent rating on a solid sample
  • Open source under MPL-2.0
  • Developer says nothing is sent to external sites

Tradeoffs to know

  • Many options take time to configure
  • Smaller user base than BlockSite or StayFocusd
  • Keyword blocking requires reading page content

Permissions and privacy

Page access

The developer's permissions FAQ explains that LeechBlock checks the URL of every page in every tab against your rules, which needs tab, navigation, and all-sites access. Keyword blocking additionally reads page content. Browsing-history access is optional and requested only if you enable adding blocked pages to history.

Data notes

The listing declares no data collection, and the developer's FAQ says LeechBlock sends no information to external sites, which can be checked against its public source code. Settings stay on your computer unless you choose sync storage in the options, and uninstalling the extension removes them.

Pricing

Free and open source. Pricing and plan limits change more often than store metadata, so use the linked developer page as the final check before subscribing.
