Is OneTab safe to use?
OneTab is a comparatively low-risk tab manager: it can collapse and restore tabs without reading page content, requires no account, and its listing carries a no-data-collection declaration. The important exception is its optional share feature, which publishes the selected tab list to a public URL.
Page access Minimal
Does its job without reading page content by default. The least to trust, and the easiest kind of extension to say yes to.
Managing tabs requires Chrome's tabs permission; it does not need to read page content to do its job.
Store-disclosed data
The listing carries the developer’s declaration that it will not collect or use your data.
The Chrome Web Store listing says the developer has disclosed that it will not collect or use your data. The optional web-share feature publishes a tab list to a public URL—avoid it for private research.
Can OneTab read the contents of my open pages?
Its core job uses Chrome's tab-management permission to save tab titles and URLs, and the review record says it does not need page-content access to collapse or restore those tabs.
Are OneTab shared lists private?
No. The optional web-share feature creates a public URL for the tab list. Do not use it for private research, internal systems, account pages, or any set of URLs that reveals sensitive work.
